The Founder of Modern Buddhism

The Founder of Modern Kadampa Buddhism is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, affectionately known as Venerable Geshe-la, a world-renowned meditation master and Teacher. He inspired thousands of people around the world to apply the pure teachings of Buddha to their modern lives to solve their personal problems and discover a deep and lasting inner peace and happiness. Today, the legacy of his life’s work touches the lives of people of all nationalities and cultures.

GENERAL SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Gen-la Jampa is an internationally renowned, ordained Buddhist teacher and the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).

As a senior NKT teacher, Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years, and under Geshe-la’s guidance has taught at many centers and events around the world.

Gen-la is well-loved for his clear and inspiring teachings and his ability to touch people’s hearts through his sincerity and loving-kindness.

RETIRED SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Gen-la Dekyong is a retired General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU. She studied and practiced for many years with her Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, from whom she received many transmissions.

She is a fully qualified teacher of both Sutra and Tantra and is greatly admired and deeply loved by thousands of people worldwide. Her teachings are profound and inspiring, and yet always extremely practical.

DEPUTY SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Gen-la Sangden is the Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, and is the National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism in Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua and Peru, and the Resident Teacher at KMC Mexico.

She is admired by many for her good example and her loving and clear advice. She has practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism for over 25 years.

UK NATIONAL SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Kadam Bridget Heyes, is the National Spiritual Director of the UK and Resident Teacher of Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre Thornby Hall. Kadam Bridget is known for her powerful teachings, compassionate heart, and deep understanding of Buddha’s wisdom advice. Her teachings are exceptionally clear and she presents profound ideas in a way that are easy to practice and integrate into daily life. Kadam Bridget shows an inspiring example for everyone on the spiritual path. As well as regular courses at Nagarjuna Centre, Kadam Bridget also teaches at various National Dharma Celebrations throughout the year.

RESIDENT TEACHER AT AMOGHASIDDHI KBC

Kelsang Dorsem is a Buddhist monk and has been a student of the renowned Buddhist scholar Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and Kadam Bridget Heyes for 25 years. Dorsem has been teaching Kadampa Buddhism since 2004 and has had teaching roles in Canada, Vienna and Nagarjuna KMC in Northamptonshire.
