Title: Can We Heal Broken Family Ties?
Location: Amoghasiddhi Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Date: Saturday 20th March 10.00 am – 12.30 pm
Cost: £12 / Free for members

About the Class:

Many families lose touch with one or more members. At difference times in our life we look back nostalgically and wonder what happened to so and so – and we reflect on, “why did this happen”? Many families, on the other hand, have cool distance relationships with some relatives and barely acknowledge others, or though they live in the same town! and, in some families there has been some major rift, or even tragedy, that has built up an almost impenetrable wall – not easy to break down.

On this half-day course, Gen Kelsang Yankyi will guide us through lines of reasoning to help us understand why these things happen. She will also give us tools that we can use to help us cope with the pain that broken ties bring. These tools are contemplations and meditations, that, if we put into practice, can eventually help us and our family to heal broken ties.

About the Teacher:

Gen Kelsang Yankyi is the Resident Teacher of Amoghasiddhi KBC and has been studying and teaching Kadampa Buddhist meditations for over twenty-six years. She is loved for her gentle and joyful approach and her ability to present Buddha’s teachings in a clear and down to earth manner making them easy to practice.
